It's a simple product that solves a simple problem effectively. I typically try to use the cork extracted from the bottle for resealing purposes, but sometimes, no matter how hard I try, it just refuses to go back in. Also, although appearances aren't exactly my main concern, the bottle always looks a little untidy when there's half a cork protruding from the top. These stoppers are made from very light (both in color and weight) wood on top and a plastic or silicone stopper. They've got just enough give to make insertion into the bottle (and it can be any bottle, not just wine, of course) easy, but they also seem to make a good seal. Although I'm not sure how airtight it is or if I'd turn the stoppered bottle upside down over someone's head to test how leakproof it is.The description says they're dishwasher safe, and I'll take them at their word, although the wooden part of the stopper doesn't really seem to be finished, so I'm not sure how it would fare in the dishwasher after repeated cleanings.Combined with some other accessories, these could make a nice gift for a wine lover, but they come packaged in a nondescript plastic baggie and probably wouldn't make a huge impression on their own in terms of being giftable. My only hesitation with these is that they seem a bit pricey. But prices on here change all the time, and there may be deals that make them more reasonably priced.
