I was never a fan of pineapple juice because the brands that they sell at the supermarket are usually acidic tasting, but Lakewood is a fantastic combination of organic pineapple juice and puree: the consistency is just right, the sweetness is perfect, and it's potential to become addictive is way up there. I love it so much that I'm neglecting the orange juice and drinking as many as three bottles a day, which I suspect is way too much.Amazon sells the case for $33.48, which comes out to $2.79 a bottle. My local diner charges $4.00 for a freshly squeezed 12 ounce cup, so $2.79 is a bargain. The glass bottles are a plus for most people (they're nice and reusable), but a downside for me because with my arthritic hands I would have preferred something lighter, but that's just me.Health News: Years ago a doctor recommended pineapple juice to me in order to counteract constipation. My reaction was, it ain't happening because I didn't like the stuff. After a recent bad case of "a medicine ball gut" I remembered the doctor's words and quickly got a hold of Dole pineapple refrigerated juice (the type that comes in a large bottle that looks like a Tropicana jug). The taste was good, but not as great as the Lakewood that I later discovered. The good news was that two 12 ounce cups of the juice did send me to the bathroom. Since then I have read about pineapple juice's other health benefits: it's anti-inflammatory and because of it's vitamin B content, it allegedly regulates blood sugar. I've become a believer.UPDATE on May 2, 2015: I was drinking way too much of this delicious juice and one morning and for nearly 3 weeks after that I was barely able to lift my feet off the ground and the right knee hurt. Granted, I had a similar problem a few years ago because I have serious arthritis, but after taking good care of myself with over the counter supplements I was doing well. I concluded that the problem was probably due to the excess consumption of the juice and enjoying one or two Dole pineapple fruit cups daily. Maybe I was getting too much acid, bromelain, or potassium. I stopped drinking the juice after putting up with the heavy legs for about a week or so and the problem eventually subsided. Now I drink 6 ounces once or twice a week and I'm reintroducing the fruit cups slowly.Natural JuiceThis company has the most unique packaging keeping the juice in perfect condition. The flavor of the pineapple reminds me of cotton candy and it arrives fast and free right to my door. I love all the delicious juices they sale, at 73 they are keeping me happy and healthy. Glass bottles, great packaging for shipment, fantastic flavor - I usually down the entire bottle before I even realize that I'm drinking it that quickly. My go-to drink for fiber, vitamin c, and natural sweetness; many times it is my dessert. Unfortunately my husband feels the same so we fight over the last one. A++++++! I first bought this to try for my toddler when he was under the weather with a runny nose and congestion. Within a couple days of drinking this pineapple juice he was completely clear. It's so good and healthy that I have continued to buy it for him. Though, I wish it were a little cheaper.Very nice tasting pineapple juice in good sized glass jars. I dilute it with either water or herbal tea. Great stuff to keep intestinal 'stuff' moving. Wish Lakewood would carry more pure juices like this one.
